Spring 10-Day Meditation Retreat 2025

Note: Priority in registration will be given first to full-time attending yogis. Full time yogis should plan to check-in before 4PM on Wednesday February 12th. A retreat orientation will be given to all yogis at 8PM on that same day.

Sayādaw U Thuzana currently is, and has been, the Abbot of the Tathāgata Meditation Center(TMC) in San Jose, California since 2011. Before that, Sayādaw was the chief meditation master at the Malaysian Buddhist Meditation Center (MBMC) in Penang, from 2003-2010. From 2000-2003, he was an assistant to the late Sayādawgyi U Paṇḍitābhivaṃsa at Paṇḍitārāma Hse-Mine-Gone Meditation Center in Bago, Myanmar. In this capacity, Sayādawhas taught Vipassanā meditation to many local and foreign yogis for many years.

Note: To help and support the center, volunteers may spend around 2-3 hours daily on sign-up chores while practicing meditation part-time.

1A. I confirm that the information which I provided above is correct. I understand that the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Meditation Center is a non-profit organization and the meditation retreat is provided for the benefit of yogi like me. Therefore, I forfeit all responsibility from the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Meditation Center should there be some unfortunate event that may occur to me during the time that I attend the retreat here. *

2A. I have reviewed in advance the meditation instructions, schedule, rules and regulations, as layout in Meditation Retreat Resources. I am committed to follow all the rules and regulations of the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Meditation Center, especially those that apply to the practice of meditation during the meditation retreat. *

3A. I am willing to sign up to perform minor tasks that are posted by the center during the retreat. *
4A. As a meditator, I will not use electronic devices such as cell phone, laptop, ipad,..during the entire retreat, other than the alarm function (the meditator can ask the relative at home to contact Punna Bhikkhu at (510) 637-9632 or email to: dainiemxutv@gmail.com in case of emergency.) *
5A. As a meditator, I will try to refrain from talking and to maintain noble silence during the retreat. *
